Terms and conditions

Last updated: 10 October 2026

1. Working together and our agreement

Gut.Audio is the studio of Benjamin Gut, Webergasse 15, 4058 Basel, Switzerland. You can contact me at beni@gut.audio.

These terms apply to mastering, stem mastering and mixing when we have incorporated them into our agreement before entering into the contract. Individual agreements take precedence. The version agreed when the contract is made applies.

We agree on the services, price and schedule for your project. An enquiry or file upload alone does not create a paid order.

2. Services, prices and payment

The services and prices in Swiss francs agreed for your project apply. The services and prices on the website form the basis of our discussion. We agree on additional services and their cost before they are carried out. We agree on the payment deadline and any advance payment when you commission the project; if no specific agreement is made, the statutory rules on when payment falls due apply.

Mastering includes 24-bit and 16-bit WAV files, 320 kbps MP3 files and FLAC files. We discuss other versions and release formats in advance.

3. Revisions

Revisions to the master with an unchanged mix are included in the price. Remastering a replacement mix supplied after the original mix has already been mastered costs CHF 10 per file. Additional exports, such as instrumentals, radio edits or vinyl masters, also cost CHF 10 per file. Additional versions are excluded from volume discounts. Different individual agreements take precedence.

For mixing, we develop the mix through an exchange of feedback. We discuss changes to the agreed scope and any additional cost in advance. Statutory rights concerning defects remain unaffected.

4. Files, feedback and deadlines

You provide the required files and project information in good time. We discuss special requirements, such as vinyl, transitions between tracks or a planned release date, before work starts.

Please check the delivered files and let me know promptly about any requested changes or technical problems. If files, feedback or agreed decisions are delayed, we review the schedule together.

5. Rights and confidentiality

You ensure that you have the rights required for the agreed processing of the material you provide. I use it to carry out your project and treat unreleased recordings and confidential project information as confidential.

Use as an audio example or for other promotional purposes requires your separate consent and the necessary rights. These terms do not transfer your rights in the music to me.

6. Archiving and privacy

Please keep your own backup copies of the source files and the delivered results. My local project archive has no fixed deletion period. Supplying files again at a later date depends on their availability and is agreed individually; this is not a promise of unlimited future availability. Statutory obligations remain unaffected.

The privacy notice explains how I process personal data and project files.

7. Ending a project and applicable law

If you wish to postpone or end a project, please let me know as early as possible. Payment for work already completed and any further claims are governed by the applicable statutory provisions and lawful individual agreements. Statutory provisions apply to defects and liability.

Swiss law applies to the extent that a choice of law is permitted. Mandatory protections under applicable law and protected statutory places of jurisdiction remain unaffected.
